Inside the great domed, oddly pinkish building, the glittering treasures of Tutankhamun and other great pharaohs lie alongside the grave goods, mummies, jewelry, eating bowls and toys of Egyptians whose names are lost to history. To walk around the museum is to embark on an adventure through time.

lunch in “Koshari Abu Tarek”: Delicious place to enjoy Koshari, Egypt’s famous comfort food! Koshari is a blend of lentils, chickpeas, pasta and a tasty tomato sauce, and a huge portion of it will cost you only a few euros. Abou Tarek is a Cairo institution for Koshari and it’s always full of locals. ( drinks not including ).
