Itinerary

Pick-up - Temples of Abu Simble - Return Back

Get an early start on the day with a 4 am, departure from your hotel in Aswan, Kemet Travel representative will pick you up from your hotel and begin the drive to Abu Simbel in an air-conditioned vehicle. Watch the sunrise over the desert during the drive, which is just over three hours long, then make the first stop of the day at the rock-cut temples of King Ramses II. The temples, now listed as part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, were moved piece by piece when the Aswan High Dam was built across the Nile River, creating Lake Nasser. You’ll see towering, monumental statues that represent great, ancient kings and queens, but look closely and you’ll find Abu Simbel’s breathtaking detail, from playful baboons to intricate, carved walls. Continue to a nearby Nubian community, which is the perfect chance to see the Nubian architecture, and learn about daily life in the harsh conditions of the Egyptian desert. After our visit end at the time you love, begin the return trip to Aswan, where you’ll finish the day with drop-off at your hotel at roughly 12 or 1 pm.
